Kicking it with KIC! - Steph

Steph joined the Delta 9 PA family as part of the starting team for the Lawrenceville/Pittsburgh location in 2019. She has been in the industry for almost 10 years, having honed her craft in Michigan’s medical and adult use market. Steph brings all her knowledge to D9 and is never afraid to share it with everyone. When she’s not managing inventory and the dispensary like a boss, she’s whipping up tasty infusions and being an all-around cannabis queen (we’re being serious, she can do EVERYTHING). It shouldn’t come to a surprise to you that Steph is a patient favorite in Lawrenceville. Learn more about her below!

1) What sparked your interest in this industry?

I always knew growing up that I would work in this industry and I am thankful to my younger self for believing that every day. I have a drive for serving and healing others and I really love cannabis, which is where the spark started.

2) What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is building bonds with our patients. I honestly can't help but love all of them. The greatest feeling is when someone comes back and says "Ya know Steph, that product helped me so much!"  I live for that positive patient feedback.

3) What does Delta 9 mean to you?

Delta 9 means community to me.  I enjoy coming to work every day mostly for that reason.  My coworkers are all so awesome and unique and I appreciate the knowledge and love we share. Our patients are also an amazing group of people that I am lucky to have meet in one way or another. I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to be here with such amazing individuals and to feel so supported in this community we have here at Delta 9.

4) As a PA MMJ patient, what are your favorite strains and forms? Why?

My favorite forms of cannabis are dry leaf, RSOs (Rick Simpson Oil), and distillates. Dry leaf has always been my go-to and how I first started using cannabis. For me, it’s the fastest acting and most reliable, I also just enjoy the ceremony of its use.  I prefer RSO and distillates next, because I have always had the greatest over-all effects from ingesting, and it makes it easy to get a measured dose that I know will last a good part of the day.

My favorite strains are the relaxing, yet uplifting giggle bushes and chill motivators.  I tend to stick to hybrids. I love Lucky Charms and Wedding Cake from FRX, they are both wonderfully relaxing without giving the heavy body feeling.  Rainmaker and Strawberry Kush from Agri-Kind are also tops!

5) If you could create your own strain, what would it be?

I mix a lot of my strains depending on how I want to feel at that moment. I would love to mix or cross an Amnesia Haze with the Lucky Charms or the FRX SAGE.  I imagine you'd have flow-y body feelings with a super relaxed and very happy mood.

6) What do you hope to see in the industry as it progresses in Pennsylvania?

EDIBLES are a must for PA to move forward in Medical Marijuana. More strain specific RSOs and oral options.  And most importantly, a permit to allow patients to try their hand at home-growing.

7) Is there more you'd like to learn about cannabis?

Yes! I would love to learn so much more. I enjoy learning about the effects of terpenes and cannabinoids in various combinations and how they influence each other.

8) What is one thing you want to help patients understand about medical marijuana or the program?

There is a lot of trial and error. It can be frustrating when you need to go through many products to find one that works, but patience pays off.  Trust your PCC's, we are here for you.  Most of us are patients ourselves and have been through it trying to find what works. We are with you in all aspects of the program, but we are also human and going through our own things, so please be patient with us while we try to help you navigate the program.

Delta 9 PA by Keystone Integrated Care dispensaries provide medical marijuana in Pittsburgh and Greensburg/Latrobe, PA. We offer affordable medical marijuana cartridges and other products, online reservations, curbside pickup, and quality service to patients in Western Pennsylvania.
