Kicking It With KIC! - Michelle
Known to some of you as DabGirlMichelle, Michelle is a Keystone Integrated Care OG. She started at our Greensburg location as a Patient Care Consultant and has risen through the ranks to become the Inventory Manager of our Lawrenceville location. She grew up in Aliquippa, Beaver County and graduated college from IUP. This is where her cannabis journey began…
1) What sparked your interest in this industry?
Since college, I’ve always been ‘go-to’ person for many people when it comes to marijuana. I attended the High Times’ Cannabis Cup in Denver right before graduation and I interned for an online marijuana blog, Hail Mary Jane, in Cali right after. I have also traveled to different states to try strains and concentrates. I knew from the start that this industry was for me.
2) What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I would say the most rewarding part is working with the most positive and energetic group of people. We are all here to succeed and become one of the most popular dispensaries in PA. We are like-minded and goal-driven. We have a core group of leaders behind us as well.
3) What does KIC mean to you?
KIC means family and friendship to me. We all came together and found each other through this program and now, our team wants to give back to the community. By educating patients and providing them with the best products in PA. By giving them the most up-to-date information. And, by being patient-driven. We are a strong force on this side of PA.
4) As a PA MMJ patient, what are your favorite strains and forms? Why?
As you all know by now, dabgirlMichelle’s favorite form is a concentrate and my favorite strain right now is Purple Haze. It definitely puts me in a very uplifted state and I always feel extra creative when I dab this. It pretty much destroys any headache or optical pain I seem to get and helps my mind relax. This strain is grown and harvested by Prime Wellness in PA; it is a cross between the rare, yet popular, Purple Thai X Haze strain.
5) If you could create your own strain, what would it be?
Queen Gelati (Gelato #45 x Space Queen) YEAHHHH GIRL! You’d get those dark, purpley buds with a heady euphoria and the giggles.
6) What do you hope to see in the industry as it progresses in Pennsylvania?
I hope to see MORE FLOWER… PA has been in a “drought” for too long and everyone is super tired of it. At this point in the program, we should have excelled with the amount of patients who have been approved. We’re falling behind and we have to do better. Why is it this hard for patients to get their medicine? I would also like to see edibles... cookies, brownies, lollipops...YOU NAME IT! And also, I would like to see solventless concentrates, other than bubble hash. Pressed rosin harvests such a trichome-rich live resin. It helps retain most of the flavor, aroma, and terpenes of the original bud; who wouldn’t want that?! It is a lot cleaner and a lot stronger. That would be a true craft cannabis experience.
